Food is good but, like everything else, it’s best when it’s the right kind and in measured proportions. We all know what the right type of food is; vegetables, fruits, whole grains, fish, etc. But only a small group of people understand how much food they need to consume to suit their dietary goals. These people care about calories.
Calories are the amount of energy your body gets from food and describes the amount of energy your body needs to perform your day-to-day activities. You measure your energy consumption and burn in calories.
Knowing how much to consume and burn is essential to your health—whether you’re a conscious eater or an all-inclusive, non-discriminatory consumer, like me. I had a conversation with Ayooluwa Okunjolu, our nutritionist, and he says, “everyone should be interested in knowing the amount of energy that goes into their body to know if they are meeting their calorie needs.”
That, Ladies and Gentlemen, is why we’ve created the Calorie Counter.
Ayooluwa has put in a lot of work, testing and measuring, to make sure that the calorific value of each meal is accurate. The best part? We’ve standardised our recipes so the calories in every Eden meal will stay consistent. And if we make any changes, we’ll let you know.
Calorie Counter is available on the Eden mobile app and only to people subscribing to a food plan. Pay once and get access to the lunch plan or any of our food plans, all month.
